Erotic etching for th poem 'Far from Here', from a 1920's edition of Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal (The Flowers of Evil). 

'This is the wooden sanctuary 
where the much-adorned young woman, 
unruffled and always ready, 
fanning her breasts with one hand
and reclining with her elbow on cushions, 
listens to the fountains weeping. 

It is Dorothea's boudoir. 
The wind and water are singing
in the distance
their song interspersed with sobs, 
to lull the spoiled child. 

From top to toe, most thoroughly 
her delicate skin is anointed 
with aromatic oil and benjamin. 
Flowers are swooning in the corner.'
