Watercolour illustration from the alchemical manuscript Clavis Artis created in Germany in the late seventeenth or early eighteenth century, attributed to the Persian Zoroaster (Zarathustra).

The Latin inscription at the foot of the image roughly translates to: 
'It has a father, the sun, a mother,  the moon, as if carried from the air in the womb, to be nursed by the earth.'
