The Mouse Frees the Doves

Watercolour painting from an antique manuscript of the Arabic animal fables Kalila wa Dimna. In this image the mouse is gnawing a net that has imprisoned the doves. The stories are around 2000 years old - this particular version is though to be from Egypt or Syria (c.1700s).
